August – September
10:00AM - 4:00PM
Fenland Museum the go-to venue for dinosaur fans this summer!
Families are welcome to explore this FREE exhibition of real dinosaur specimens, loaned by Sedgwick Museum of Earth Sciences which includes a mighty replica skull of a Tyrannosaurus Rex.
Inspired by a giant 200-million year-old fossil in its collection, Wisbech and Fenland Museum is holding a special dinosaur exhibition and events throughout August and September.
The project continues into the schools’ Autumn term and therefore our resources are available to study fossils and the world of the dinosaurs for a national curriculum topic.
We are fortunate to have on permanent display a fossil of the massive jawbone of a temnodontosaurus marine reptile from Lyme Regis. It was donated to our museum in Victorian times by local landowner and amateur paleontologist the Rev Chauncy Hare Townshend.
Open Tuesday - Saturday 10:00am – 4:00pm FREE
Additionally, as part of Summer at the museum (UCM festival) there will be artist-led dinosaur themed family-friendly workshops.
