How the Victorians got Festive: Wisbech Museum on Christmas Fayre day

Event: Sunday 9th December

10AM - 4PM

Did the Victorians really invent Christmas as we know it?

Take a break from shopping on the stalls at Wisbech Christmas Fayre this Sunday (Dec 9) to explore how the Victorians celebrated Christmas at the town’s museum.

Wisbech and Fenland Museum will be open on Fayre day from 10am to 4pm offering hot drinks and a browse round its collection of Victorian Christmas cards and the scrapbooks families would compile together, sitting round a roaring fire.

There will also be a rolling workshop all day from 11am to 3pm for adults and children alike to have a go at the crafts that put a handmade stamp on Christmas in the 19th Century.
