Young artists aged three to 17 celebrated at Wisbech and Fenland Museum through the Easter holidays

Young artists aged three to 17 celebrated at Wisbech and Fenland Museum through the Easter holidays

Prizes presented for stunning work created by some of the area's most talented young artists launched the Young Arts Open exhibition and a series of Easter holiday workshops at Wisbech and Fenland Museum on Saturday March 28.

The Museum was thronged with visitors for the prizegiving and to view the bright, fresh best of what children as young as three up to sixth-formers aged 17 can create.

The contest and exhibition sponsored by Wisbech Rotary and 20Twenty Productions CIC attracted 113 entries which are all up for viewing during Museum open hours from 10 to four, Wednesday to Saturday until April 18.

Guests of entrants to the competition with an artwork on display are welcome free to the Museum while the exhibition is on just as all under-16-year-olds are all year round. Other adults can purchase a year's free pass in Reception.

“The creativity of these artworks is our hope for the future and we're proud to have sponsored the prize-money which we hope will encourage these young people and many more in the future to carry on making art,” said Dal Roy of Wisbech Rotary.

A series of themed workshops, all inspired by Young Arts 2026 entries and suitable for children under five upwards are on April 1, April 2, April 8 and April 10. Find details of each workshop and the art that inspired it on the Museum website www.wisbechmuseum.org.uk .
