Call to craftspeople to show their skill and help to save Wisbech Museum

Call to craftspeople to show their skill and help to save Wisbech Museum

Craftspeople from the Fens and beyond are invited to make and donate tree decorations for Wisbech and Fenland Museum's latest fundraiser A Crafty Little Christmas.

It doesn't matter if you're a professional or a gifted hobbyist, the Museum is keen to promote the variety and excellence of handmade work and to help secure its own future at the same time.

Donated decorations will be sold for a fixed price of £7 at Wisbech and Fenland Museum's Crafty Little Christmas exhibition from 6 December to 20 December. All proceeds will go toward supporting the Museum to stay open.

Exhibition organiser Louise Haselgrove said: “There was a fantastic response to our Secret Little Art Show in 2023 with artists donating hundreds of original postcard-sized artworks for sale. Thanks to their generosity we raised over £2,000 to support the Museum and its work."

“This time we're hoping to see some amazing Christmas tree decorations donated by makers with a love for Wisbech Museum, with all proceeds going towards keeping us open into the future.”

Decorations can be sent or delivered to the Museum when it is open from 10am to 4pm, Wednesday to Saturday from now until Saturday November 19. For further information visit www.wisbechmuseum.org.uk/whats-on
