Museum a must for free festive fun and unusual gifts
Don't miss festive extras the Museum has to offer this month and next – great Christmas shopping in its shop and fun indoor activities for children and adults on Sunday, December 8 – Wisbech Christmas Fayre day.
The Museum shop in the new entrance, opened in 2023 opposite St Peter's Church tower, offers fossils and minerals, geodes, locally made crafts and local history books, maps, cards by local artists and small items like 'dinosaur eggs' that make perfect stocking fillers.
From now until the Museum closes for the Christmas break on December 21, visitors can also browse The Secret Little Art Show; a small exhibition of artworks by both amateur and professional artists who generously donated their work for sale in aid of Museum funds in 2023. All works are priced at £10 each and make highly affordable, unique festive gifts.
More than half the 300 postcard-size original prints, photographs, paintings, and drawings both quirky and beautiful donated for the appeal were sold last Christmas, contributing over £1,200 towards Museum running costs.
