Opportunity for young artists to submit work for Exhibition and Cash Prize

If you're a talented artist aged up to 18 living, working or studying in the Fens – don't miss your chance to enter the fourth annual Young Arts Open competition run specially for you by Wisbech and Fenland Museum.

The window to bring submissions for the visual arts contest and exhibition opens this Wednesday (February 18) and ends on March 21.

After winners are announced at an awards ceremony, all submissions will be displayed at the Museum in the Young Arts Open 2026 Exhibition from March 28 to April 18.

Contest organiser Louise Haselgrove said: “We are pleased to be able to once again support young people to celebrate their creative talents and provide them with a public platform. We extend our thanks to Wisbech Rotary for their continuing support.”

Last year, the exhibition displayed 200 entries from young artists aged 2-18, which in addition to individual entries included submissions from 7 schools and 1 community group.

The contest, launched by Wisbech and Fenland Museum in 2023, has grown in size, scope, and popularity year on year, drawing entries from three districts – Fenland, West Norfolk and South Holland.

It is again supported by 20Twenty Productions CIC and with cash prizes generously sponsored by Wisbech Rotary.

If you, your child or student(s) haven't yet entered the contest, download entry forms online at www.wisbechmuseum.org.uk or ask at the Museum which re-opens after its winter conservation break on February 18. Museum opening hours are 10 to 4, Wednesday to Saturday.
