Education Handling Collection

Education and access

The Education Handling Collection is a vital resource, allowing visitors of all ages to handle real artefacts and providing the essence of museum learning.

Objects in this collection do not have to comply strictly with the Main Museum's Collecting Policy, however they do need to be relevant to our Learning Programme. Household items, toys and clothes from the 19th and 20th century would be of particular interest.

Objects in this collection are handled with care and under supervision. Although we cannot guarantee the same levels of conservation as for main collections, it is in the interest of the Education Service to ensure that the objects are looked after and stored as well as possible.
